The Successful Housing Elements and Developmental Disabilities (SHEDD) Housing Design Tool is a list of personal preferences with design suggestions about the physical space of a home. This tool is based on a research project that identified key design elements (e.g., materials, spatial arrangements) of supportive housing for adults labeled with developmental disabilities. Through this research, the SHEDD tool was developed as a prototype tool to guide built environment modifications. The first version of the tool was shared more widely during a webinar series. Feedback from webinar participants informed changes and updates to the current version of the tool. A French language version of this tool is now available.
